It’s move it or lose it time (literally), but we believe with your help (yes, you...and everyone else too) we can move the IKE Box. Below we break down the IF, the WHY, and the HOW. So read on!
Why
Because we do so much more than serve coffee, and we believe this is worth saving:
Youth Programs
- IKE Quest (work/life skills)
40 youth/year - Bridgeway (recovery)
100+ youth/year - CAREcorps (leadership camp)
50 youth/year
Community Center
- All-ages music venue
- Community-led forums and events
- Regular art exhibits
- 60+ community groups regularly use IKE Box
Coffee Shop
- $55K average monthly revenue
- Revenue fuels IKE Quest program
15 apprenticeships - 450 customers/day
- Relationships fuel transformation
And these options won't work:
New Construction
- For equivalent space, costs more than moving the building
- Loss of location and customer base
A different building
- Costs as much or more plus buildout/movein costs
- Loss of location and risk feasibility of coffee business
How
$1,500,000 … We get it, that’s a lot of zeroes. But the reality is it gets smaller the more people get involved (watch). We even did the math for you! We broke it down into three categories of giving. Our thought is EVERYONE should be able to get involved somehow, in some way. Shaker
GRP $6000
As a Shaker you are committing to GRP (Give/Raise/Pledge) $6,000 by August 1st. That could be accomplished in many different ways.
- You or your business gives $6,000
- You give $1,200 and get 4 friends to match
- You pledge $100/month (for a year) and get 4 friends to match
- 75 Shakers = $450,000 - that's a lot of zeroes too!
- IKE Shakers get banner on building (while it moves!) and picture on wall forever!
Mover
GRP $1000
As a Mover you are committing to GRP (Give/Raise/Pledge) $1,000 by August 1st. That could be accomplished in many different ways.
- You give $1,000
- You pledge $84/month (for a year)
- You give $500 and raise $500
- You give $100 and get 9 friends to match
- 100 IKE Movers = $100,000 - a real dent!
- IKE Movers get ticket to Moving Party to watch the building roll across the street!
Maker
GRP $500
As a Maker you are committing to GRP (Give/Raise/Pledge) $500 by August 1st. That could be accomplished in many different ways.
- Sign up as fundraiser on CrowdRise
- give and/or raise $500
- for every $500 raised you get one entry into drawing for BMW X2 two-year lease ($1000 = 2 entries, etc)
